Description
This premium red blend consists of Merlot and Shiraz. The Merlot grapes were destemmed and whole berries fermented in stainless steel tank. Pump-overs were done twice daily, to allow a soft, gentle extraction of fruity flavours and tannins. The Shiraz was whole bunch fermented in open top wooden fermenters. Punch-downs were done twice daily to release the juice from the crushing of the berries. After fermentation, pressing followed and then the 2 wines were blended post-malolactic fermentation and aged for 6 months in tank with a combination of specially selected oak staves originating from various forests in France.
An explosion of fresh ripe red berry fruits on the nose. Red cherry aromas mingled with soft oaky creamy notes entices further. Just enough soft tannin grip on the palate makes this an easy drinking wine. Ending with a long juicy finish.
Wine of origin – Elgin.
